PEORIA, Ill. – A 27 percent pay increase.
That’s one of the things Caterpillar says the United Auto Workers agreed to in a new six-year contract effective Monday, after ratification votes this weekend at four Illinois locations, and in York, Pennsylvania.
Vote totals were not released.
All the UAW will say in a statement is that they commend the bargaining team, and the membership for their solidarity after the last contract ended at the beginning of the month. Caterpillar says they believe the new contract to be fair.
Other highlights Cat says are in the deal include other wage increases and cash payments, more flexible time off, an increased 401(K) match, and the discontinuing of random drug testing for marijuana.
